In Hosea 2:16,19-23 (NKJV) it reads, "And it shall be, in that day, "Says the LORD, "That you will call me 'My Husband,' And no longer call Me 'My Master,' . . . "I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In loving kindness and mercy; 20 I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the LORD. 21 "It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer," says the LORD; "I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth. 22 The earth shall answer with grain, with new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel. 23 Then I will sow for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, 'You are My people!' And they shall say, 'You are my God!"

So, what is happening here?  Hosea (which means "salvation") is a prophet who gets a directive from God to marry.  God tells Hosea to find himself a wife and the Lord tells him in advance that she will be unfaithful to him.  And although she would bear many children, some of these children would be fathered by other men.  How hurtful this must have been for Hosea.
Can you imagine your wedding day and looking at the one who you have chosen, the one that you have longed for, and hoped for, the one that you will share all of yourself to that very night and for the rest of your life . . . to know that they will be unfaithful?  Can we imagine the thoughts that Hosea had as he came into Covenant with this woman named Gomer?  As he would spend years with her growing to love her more and more and knowing that she would go to another.  The days when she would leave her first love Hosea (salvation) and give pieces of herself to ones that impregnated her with their selfishness.  And all the while Hosea is at home awaiting his wife, his bride to return to him.  Longing for his Gomer to put him back as first place in her life and to turn from the others.

Oh, how Jesus (our salvation) is longing for just the same.  He is longing for His Bride, The Church to turn back to Her first love.  To keep Her eyes on Him.  To keep a pure heart and clean hands!  In Psalm 24:4-6 (NIV) it tells us, "He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. 5 He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior. 6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob."   Jesus is searching for His Bride!  He is looking for the generation who is seeking HIM, NOT THE WORLD!  Those He will vindicate, He will forgive!  He's looking for a Bride who will not seek others, that will not give Herself to others!

The Lord has been shouting in my very being, REPENT! REPENT! REPENT!  He is calling us to REPENT to Him!  He, like Hosea is wanting us to be in a right relationship with Him again so that we can truly call Him "Husband" and not only "Master!"  It's time for us Bride of Christ to come back to our First Love!  It's time for us to re-examine our words, our activities, and ourselves.  What are we devoting ourselves to?  Who are we devoting ourselves to?  For what have we traded our Love and Savior, Jesus Christ for?  With whom have we played the harlot with?  It is time. Let us honor our "marriage" with The Lord, renew our covenant, our promise to God.
Jesus, our Bridegroom, just like Hosea knew that we would love Him, be intimate with Him, then turn away and get our eyes on something or someone else.  He knew getting into the relationship with us that we could be unfaithful.  That we would give His time to another.  That our eyes would look upon another all the while He waits on us to look only to Him.  He patiently awaits for His love, His precious Bride to COME HOME TO HIM!  How long must He wait till we turn away from our adulterous relationships - the things or relationships in our lives that take us away from Him.  The things or persons who steal our hearts and minds away from the very One Who is waiting and longing for us to just love Him!
We are "the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face."  We are the ones to turn back to Him.  We look to Him!  We will only seek His face, not others!  We will REPENT and turn from our wicked ways.  We will  REPENT for our sins and the sins of the ones before us.  We will REPENT on behalf of our Nation and the moral decline - Oh, how we have fallen!  We will turn our eyes, minds and attention back to The One Who loves us, Who bought us, Who has married us, to The One Who longs to have us!  So, that God can say to us, "Then I will say to those who were not My people, 'You are My people!'  And they shall say, 'You are my God!'
Let's all get before God and confess our sins and let Him clean us and bathe us.  Let's let Him wash the dirt, the Earth, the World from our bodies and minds and re-birth in us a love for Him and His people and His ways.  Let's plead with God to Marry Us Again!
We Love You, Jesus!  Thank You For Loving Us!  Your Bride Is Right Here!
