You Mean EVERY Day?

Why is LOVE so important with God?  Well, 1 John 4:16(b) states "God IS love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him."  God Himself IS LOVE!  LOVE is Who He is.  Who He is made up of.  His character, His ways . . . HIM!  LOVE Himself laid His hands on the sick and they were healed, LOVE walked planet earth and taught the people and His disciples about the Kingdom of God.  LOVE raised people from the dead.  LOVE suffered and died a horrible death, and then rose from the dead for us!  Who did all of this and more?  LOVE Himself did.  LOVE gave His all.  And Who is coming to get His Bride, The Church?  LOVE is Who is coming back!  Praise God!  LOVE is not an abstract thing or something that we just have in our vocabulary to express strong feelings for.  No, LOVE is a Person,  He is the God of the universe . . . God is LOVE!

LOVE is ALSO how our faith actually operates.  In Gal. 5:6 it reads,  " . . . faith which worketh by love."  We receive the promises of God, our salvation, healing, deliverances, everything by faith.  And without having LOVE it makes our faith not work!  Remember everything is hanging on LOVE!   In addition, we have to keep in mind that The Word says in Hebrews 11:6, "And without faith it is impossible to please God,"  To please our wonderful God and Savior, we must do so through faith, and faith works by LOVE!  So, if everything is hanging on LOVE even our faith, we can clearly see that LOVE and walking in LOVE has got to be our focus.

You may be thinking, so how do I go about walking and living in LOVE?  I'm so glad you asked!  It wouldn't do us any good to just talk about how vital LOVE is without talking about how to do it, would it?  Let's dissect this together.

In 1 Corinthians 13:2-8 (AMP) it tells us, "And if I have prophetic powers (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God's love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody). 3  Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or in order that I may glory, but have not love (God's love in me), I gain nothing. 4  Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. 5  It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly.  Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. 6  It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. 7   Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. 8  Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end].  . . . . ."

Let's all say it together, WOW!   LOVE is awesome!  But can we truly walk in LOVE?  God would not tell you to do something (tell us to LOVE Him with all our mind, soul, and strength, and LOVE our neighbor as ourself) if that was impossible to do!  He'll never set us up to fail.  He is always for victory and winning, never losing.  Remember God, LOVE never fails!

Dewayne and I have been looking at the definition of LOVE.  And we have truly looked at ourselves.  Well, I'll tell you, there were some things, attitudes, mind sets, excuses, and areas in our lives that we saw that were against God and against this definition of LOVE.  WE admitted where we were missing it, repented to God and apologized to each other.

This is what we are doing in our day to day journey in walking in LOVE.  When circumstances or situations arise in our lives and we are not handling it the way LOVE would.  We just stop where we are and we are quick to repent to God and get right back into LOVE before we get ourselves way off the path with our LOVE walk.

For example, let's say I am studying and I have to be at a church to minister in just a couple of hours, and I really don't feel that I'm quite prepared yet.  Well, the phone rings a couple of times and its companies wanting me to take their credit cards, and I haven't got dinner made for Dewayne and I, and I still have to iron my clothes, and go to the Post Office and the bank.  I start to feel that stirring going on in me, I feel worried and nervous that I won't be able to get all of this done and be prepared to go minister.  I immediately STOP.  Look at that definition of LOVE and say out loud,  "LOVE is not fretful, and Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, and it endures everything without weakening."  Then I ask God to help and forgive me for not trusting in Him for His help and His Peace through my day.

Let's say that you are in a restaurant and your waitress is terrible to you and your party.  She takes a long time to come to take your order, she never smiles, she gets your orders wrong and she is rude to you because you ask if a correction of the meals can be made.  She never comes and checks to see if you need anything.  You begin to feel that stirring again.  What do you do?  You can say to yourself,  "Love endures long and is patient and kind; it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly.  It is not touchy it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong.  Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person."

You may have to repeat the Word of God and certain parts of His definition of Love more than just once or twice, it may be through the whole meal!  Even if someone says something to you that just really got to you, just say to your self, Love is not touchy.  Repent and get right back into Love.  You may be thinking right now, this seems like a lot of work.  Well it is, at least it seems that way at first.  But it does get easier.  And Dewayne and I are working on this every day (every hour sometimes).  So, you are not alone.  And this is a lifelong commitment to walk in Love.  If you ever start thinking, "Why am I striving to walk in Love?"  Just remember that Jesus said this is the first and greatest commandment (To Love Him with all your heart, soul and mind) and the second is like it (Love your neighbor as yourself).  Walk in Love because He says to, because all the law and the prophets are hanging on it and because LOVE wants you to!  YOU CAN DO IT!  LOVE, Himself will walk with you and Love will help you have VICTORY in Your Love Walk and He Will Help You Have Victory in Your Life!  Choose LOVE TODAY!
