Need A Miracle? This
Is The Time To Have It!
37 For nothing is
impossible with God." Luke 1:37 (NIV)
Webster's Dictionary defines "miracle" as a wonder; supernatural event.
During this time of year, miracles seem to be more believed in than any other time of year. If
you look at all that transpired before Christ came to earth the first time and all of the miraculous things that took place,
we can certainly see why this could be a season for miracles to take place. Miracles took place then and we know they take
place now.

Some of the miracles that took place before and during the
Messiah, Jesus Christ, The Anointed Ones’ arrival to planet earth were:
*
In Luke 1:5-25 we find that the priest Zechariah is chosen by lot to go into the temple and burn incense. (At this particular
time in history there was approximately 20,000 priests that were divided into 24 groups of 1,000 per group.) For lots to be
cast on this specific day and time in history and Zechariah to be selected was a miracle. Seeing these odds totally displays
that this was planned by God. This was a chance of a lifetime for Zechariah.
*
Once Zechariah entered the temple and was at the altar of incense, Gabriel, the angel appeared to him and told him that
he and his wife Elizabeth would have a son in their old age. They were to give him the name John and he would prepare the
way for the Messiah, the spirit of Elijah would be upon him, and he would be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth or
(in the mother‘s womb). After doubting this miraculous visitation and message, Zechariah is told by Gabriel that he
would not talk until the message comes to past. And Zechariah did not talk until then.
* Elizabeth who had been barren all her life, then became pregnant. Just like the angel
said.

*
In Luke 1:26-38 we find Gabriel being a part of another miracle. He appeared to Mary, a virgin, who was pledged to be married
to Joseph. Both Joseph and Mary were descendants of David.
*
Gabriel tells Mary that she is highly favored and chosen to give birth to the Son of God. WOW!
* Mary, who was a virgin, would become with child by The Holy Spirit! Luke 1:35-36 NIV tells us, The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most
High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.”
*
Gabriel also tells Mary that her cousin Elizabeth is with child! (She was carrying the one to announce (go before) the One
Mary was carrying! What timing God has!
*
In Matthew 1:18-23, we find that an angel also appears to Joseph to explain to him that Mary was carrying God’s Son
and she had not be unfaithful to him! Even Joseph and Mary being pledged to be married, the right two people God had chosen
to raise Jesus is amazing! And that they were BOTH in the lineage of King David!
* In Luke 1:39-56
we find how Mary goes and visits her cousin and upon her arrival John is filled with the Holy Spirit in the womb, just like
it was told!
* Zechariah gets back his voice when his son
John is born and he names him. (Luke 1:59-66)
* Zechariah,
himself was then filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied! (Luke 1:67)
*
A census was decreed to all peoples in the entire Roman world! This made Joseph and Mary have to leave and go to Bethlehem,
where the prophets declared the Messiah would be born! (Luke 2:1-5) God has a way of getting us to the right place and at
the right time!

* In Luke 2: 8-18, we find the shepherds even experiencing a
miracle. An angel of The Lord appeared to them! Not a king or dignitary, but the shepherds who were working that glorious
night! Then the glory shown about them! They were right in the middle of God’s Glory! Then bursting
through was a great company of angels with the other angel praising God and saying, "Glory
to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." (Luke 2:14) Talk about a miracle, to be at work one night and a host of angels appearing and exclaiming to
you!
